DESK TYPE ELECTRONIC MAGNETO TELEPHONE – IRS : 79/2000 with Amd No.2 Approved In Part – I

SCOPE :-

The Desk Type Electronic Magneto Telephone is a modified version of old type Hand Generated Magneto Telephone incorporating Electronic circuitry with advance technology having additional features of separate one Push Button for calling at different places for point to point communications.

When two or more such UNITS are connected through 600 ohm impedance conductors, it is possible to here clearly the ring of the called unit on operating of a Push Button the standard DTMF tone generated.

The UNIT is housed in an aesthetic telephone cabinet moulded of ABS plastic powder.

The system works for Voice Communications & on omnibus circuit tapped at different places.

It is possible to interface Electronic Magneto Telephone with Microwave and Optical Fiber System.

This system has the facility of point to point communication between cabins – ASM & Level Crossing Gates.

FEATURES :-

1. The system works on 3V DC [1.5V x 2 Dry CELL – Type R-20] as per IS:8144. [The batteries are housed in a leak proof compartment.]

2. The Telephone instrument is moulded of ABS [Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene] plastic powder.

3. Glass Epoxy PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD [P.C.B.] is used for better environmental performance.

4. Ferrite core Transformers are used for miniaturization and better quality performance.

5. The Telephone Unit has Trans & Receive speech circuits.

6. Electro Dynamic Transducers for both Transmitter & Receiver are used.

7. Visual & Audio Indications

a. Yellow LED [5mm] for Incoming Ring & Buzzer for audible tone.

b. Dual LED [5mm] :-

i . Green LED for power supply indication irrespective of handset is ON Hook or OFF Hook.

ii. Red LED for low battery voltage [10% below normal voltage].

8. Equipment should be protected from:

a. Surge & transients current from lightning.

b. Acoustic protections to receiver.

c. Reverse Polarity.

9. Following facility is provided:

• The volume level of the buzzer can be adjustable in two steps (Low & High).
• It has one push button for calling.
• This system can call any number of locations by counting number of Rings.
